Please be aware of falsified e-mails in circulation with the subject title “Unauthorized ACH Transaction.” This e-mail claims to be from NACHA, the Electronic Payments Association, and informs the recipient that there is a problem with an ACH transaction they have originated. The e-mail includes a link, which redirects the individual to a fake NACHA website that contains a second link that is believed to be an executable virus with malware.

Please note that this fraudulent email was not sent by NACHA nor any of the banks it works with, including MVSB, and the link within the email is fraudulent. NACHA does not send communications to individuals or organizations about individual ACH transactions that they originate or receive.

Recipients of this email should not click on any images or links, or reply to the email. It is recommended that the recipient immediately delete the item from his or her inbox and deleted items folder.

What to do if you receive an email: Do not click on any links, images or buttons with the email. Doing so may result in the installation of spyware, viruses, Trojans and/or other malicious software to your PC.

What to do if you've clicked on the email link: Contact MVSB as soon as possible. Be sure that you immediately run a virus, spyware and malware scan on your PC. In addition, we reccomend that you have your PC restored/re-imaged. You may want to consult a computer security professional.

What to do if you've clicked on the link and provided personal information: Be sure to notify MVSB as soon as possible. We advise that you immediately close or restrict any compromised accounts, as well as monitor your credit report and review the Federal Trade Commission's Reccomendations on Identity Theft.
