The Bank is pleased to congratulate Joanne Pearce, Senior Vice President, Risk Management Officer, on her June 7th graduation from the prestigious American Bankers’ Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Stonier program helps senior-level bankers develop the skills for effectively recognizing and handling high-level management issues, with an emphasis on strategic planning, financial management, and leadership. Consisting of two week-long residence sessions at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia – and additional coursework and assignments throughout the year – the program culminates in a final Capstone Strategic Project offering students the unique opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge to a major initiative within their own organizations.

“We’re extremely proud of Joanne’s significant achievement in graduating from such a rigorous program,” said Rick Wyman, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at MVSB. “The skills and knowledge she gained at Stonier will enhance Joanne’s expertise and leadership in her vital role at the bank.”

As MVSB’s Senior Vice President, Risk Management Officer, Pearce ensures that sufficient management resources, software programs and controls are in place to effectively identify, measure, and monitor enterprise risks to the bank. She also oversees the Bank’s compliance program and develops and implements policies and procedures for physical and data security and disaster recovery.

Pearce joined MVSB in May of 2002 as an Information Security Specialist and was promoted to Security Manager later that year. In 2004, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Risk Manager, and two years later to Vice President in the same role. In 2009, Pearce was promoted to her current position as Senior Vice President, Risk Management Officer.

A graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C., Pearce also holds an M.B.A. in Management of Global Information Technology and International Marketing from American University’s Kogod School of Business.

Prior to joining MVSB, Pearce worked in Boston and Washington D.C. in banking and software consulting. She is a member of the advisory board for The Salvation Army in Laconia. Pearce resides in Holderness with her family.
