For nearly three decades, the MVSB Fund has helped nonprofit organizations make a meaningful difference throughout the communities we serve.
As interest in the MVSB Fund continues to grow, so does the number of worthy organizations seeking funding. To maximize the impact of available grant dollars and increase the likelihood of a positive outcome for applicants, each annual grant season will focus on a single community need identified as particularly important within our region. By concentrating funding in one area each year, the Fund can make a deeper impact, support more organizations working toward a common goal, and reduce competition among applicants. The committee hopes this change will allow a greater percentage of applicants to receive funding while helping the dedicated staff and volunteers of local nonprofits achieve meaningful results for the people they serve.
For the 2026 grant cycle, the MVSB Fund will focus on food insufficiency and food security initiatives. The Fund is seeking applications from nonprofit organizations whose programs or projects help address hunger, improve access to nutritious food, strengthen local food systems, or otherwise support individuals and families facing food insecurity within MVSB’s footprint.
The MVSB Fund remains committed to supporting organizations that create lasting, positive change in our communities. These grants are in addition to MVSB’s year-round support through donations, sponsorships, scholarships, financial education initiatives, and the volunteer efforts of our employees. Directors of the MVSB Fund look for opportunities where a modest amount of funding can help an organization accomplish a significant result. Grant requests up to $10,000 will be considered. Historically, awards have averaged approximately $5,000. The review process is highly competitive, and the board seeks the most productive uses for the limited funds available.
Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and complete an application. Applications must be submitted by October 15.
