Beginning August 3, 2018, all checks deposited using Mobile Deposit will be required to bear the endorsement “For Mobile Deposit Only to MVSB” in addition to your signature. Please be sure to include this updated statement above your signature on all checks deposited using the MVSB Mobile App.
The Mobile Deposit User Agreement has been updated to reflect this change. This agreement can always be found within the More menu of the Mobile App.
This new requirement is being implemented in response to a change to the Expedited Funds Availability Act. It applies to all mobile deposits at all financial institutions and aims to protect your deposit so that it’s not accidentally presented at another bank.
How should I endorse mobile deposits moving forward?
The following endorsements are acceptable:
For Mobile Deposit Only to MVSB
OR For Mobile Deposit Only to Meredith Village Savings Bank
What will happen if the appropriate endorsement is missing?
Checks are carefully reviewed for the appropriate endorsements. If an endorsement is incorrect or missing, you will be notified that the item has not been accepted and it will need to be redeposited with the correct endorsement.
Can I use the mobile deposit check box in the endorsement area instead?
No, the check box does not meet the new requirement for mobile deposits.
