Global Payments, Inc., a payment card processor, has identified and reported the unauthorized access into a portion of their North American processing system. According to the company, a preliminary investigation has shown that the unauthorized access has exposed Track 2 magnetic stripe data for less than 1.5 million payment cards. Track 2 typically includes card-specific information, such as the unique 16-digit card number and card expiration date.
