The Meredith Fire Department will present a community remembrance ceremony and memorial dedication on Friday, September 11 to honor and remember the lives lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001. At noon, Meredith firefighters will walk from the Meredith Fire Department to Hesky Park, where the ceremony and dedication will take place before the memorial is relocated to the Central Fire Station as a permanent place of remembrance. MVSB is reminding nonprofit organizations throughout the Lakes Region, White Mountains, Mount Washington Valley, and Seacoast regions that applications for the 2026 MVSB Fund grant program are due by October 15. The focus area for this year’s grant cycle is food insufficiency. MVSB Advances Sustainability Goals with Solar Energy Installations in Portsmouth, Rochester
MVSB recently completed solar energy installations at its Portsmouth and Rochester branch offices as part of its continued commitment to sustainability. Work will soon begin on additional installations in Laconia and the Seneca Ladd Building in Meredith. Community Development Tax Credits Help Kidworks Improve Accessibility and Capacity
MVSB is proud to support Kidworks Learning Center through the purchase of $25,000 in New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) tax credits. The funding will help the nonprofit childcare center complete critical facility improvements that will expand access to quality, affordable childcare for families throughout the Lakes Region. Kidworks Learning Center will use the tax credit funding to install a new exterior foundation drainage system and ADA-accessible ramp to address critical health and safety concerns impacting its ability to serve children and families.
