Live Nation Entertainment® is investigating a data breach at its subsidiary, global concert and event ticket provider, Ticketmaster®. The breach could impact as many as 560 million of their customers, who will now be at risk of fraud and identity theft due to a massive breach of their data systems.
Hackers obtained full names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, event details, order information and payment card information, including the last four digits of the debit or credit card number and expiration date. Information stolen in largescale data breaches like this one is often sold and used by criminals to commit card fraud, identity theft and further cyber-attacks.
Ticketmaster® has not yet released a timeframe indicating how long the information was stored and how far back records were accessed. If you ever made a purchase from Ticketmaster®, it is important to monitor any accounts or credit cards that may have been impacted and to report fraud immediately. Be sure to update your Ticketmaster® account username and password and also update any other online, financial or email accounts where you use the same or similar username and password combination.
Be alert and suspicious. The information exposed could allow someone to attempt to steal your identity and you may notice you receive an increase in scam calls, emails or texts phishing for additional details to commit fraud. If you are a MVSB customer and are concerned your accounts or identity are at risk, please contact us so that we contact us directly at 603.279.7986.
