We proudly announces the 2025 recipients of the James D. Sutherland Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to one graduating senior from high schools located in communities where MVSB has a branch office.
This year’s recipients are:
- Wilder Carrigan of Portsmouth, son of Tamara and Jim Carrigan, attending Northeastern University.
- Chloe Hartnett of Exeter, daughter of Matthew Hartnett and Erin Brown, attending Roger Williams University.
- Nathaniel Hobby of Laconia, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Hobby, attending the University of Maine.
- David Kizer of Campton, son of Maundy Mitchell and Matt Kizer, attending University College Dublin.
- Kade Lucas of Wolfeboro, son of Troy and Jennica Lucas, attending Southern New Hampshire University.
- Gavin Marchand-Correia of Moultonborough, son of George and Valerie Ann Correia, attending Boston University.
- Emmaline Morin of Rochester, daughter of Shawn and Natalie Morin, attending Rivier University.
- Gabreaelle Perron of Gilford, daughter of Susannah and Dan Perron, attending New England College.
- Austin Roberts of Jackson, son of Jeremy and Allyn Roberts, attending Fairfield University.
- Avery Thoroughgood of Barnstead, daughter of Ashley Cleasby and Todd Thoroughgood, attending the University of Maine.
- Meadow True of Meredith, attending New Hampshire Technical Institute.
The Sutherland Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of James D. Sutherland, who served as President and CEO of MVSB from 1982-1996. Scholarship recipients represent the MVSB company values of accountability, mutuality, excellence, respect, integrity, teamwork and stewardship.
