The Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation granted $3,000 to the Aviation and Aerospace Educational Center at Winnipesaukee (WinnAero) of Gilford, NH, for its 2018 Aerospace Career Education (ACE) Academies. The contribution will support a scholarship for field trips and aerospace education for local-area students in high school, middle school and elementary school from Belmont, Franklin, Gilford, Laconia, Meredith and Tilton. The Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund at New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded $120,000 to 35 non-profit organizations. These include $99,000 awarded to 21 local agencies, and $21,000 donated to 14 area food pantries. Belmont Middle School has opened a new Makerspace designed for students, teachers and mentors to meet, create, invent and learn. This was made possible by the $6,000 grant the school received from the Meredith Village Savings Bank fund in 2017. The Makerspace offers 3D printers, a 3D scanner, software programs, electronic kits, craft materials and sewing machines that help students keep pace with the growing need for technical knowledge.
