We are deeply saddened to share that Clarence Howard “Larry” Thorne, Former President and Chairman of the Board for Meredith Village Savings Bank, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 94. A compassionate and hands-on leader, Thorne served the Bank for 31 years. During his tenure, he guided the institution through many milestones, including the celebration of its 100th Anniversary, the opening of its third branch in Center Harbor, and the addition of many new technologies, such as ATM Cards and Machines. Warning: Fraudulent Automated Phone Calls Regarding Debit Cards

Local Photographer Jon Secord Donates Percentage of Sales to Genesis Behavioral Health; MVSB Matches Funds
Earlier this winter, local photographer Jon Secord committed to contribute 25% of his photography sales between the period of November 15 and December 15 to Genesis Behavioral Health (Genesis). During this time frame he was able to raise $500 for the organization through his photography sales. MVSB has exceeded their promise to match Secord’s donation, by adding an additional $1500 to bring the donation to $2000. MVSB Fund Grants $99,075 to Local Non-Profits
We are pleased to announce that the MVSB Fund at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded $99,075 to area nonprofits. The Charitable Fund contributions include 21 grants, totaling $85,075, to assist agencies with their individual needs. In addition, $14,000 will also be disbursed to area food pantries. Spread Some Warmth this Winter by Donating Mittens, Hats and Scarves to MVSB’s Mitten Tree Program
With colder weather moving in and the holidays fast approaching, MVSB is continuing a tradition since 1979 of collecting donations from the community of mittens, hats and scarves to distribute to local residents through its annual Mitten Tree program. Beginning the day after Thanksgiving and continuing through December 20, donations of handmade or purchased mittens, gloves, hats and scarves by area residents and customers can be dropped off at any MVSB office.
