Tilton Senior Center was chosen as one of thirteen local non-profit agencies to receive a grant from the Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (MVSB Fund) in 2014.  The $4592 grant was used to purchase a commercial dishwasher and to install a fire suppression hood over the stove in the senior center’s kitchen. These additions have allowed the center to expand their lunch program to provide three meals per week to area seniors in need. Dr. Sara Laroux, DVM,  recently acquired the Tilton Veterinary Hospital, located at 280 Laconia Road in Tilton, from now retired veterinarian, Dr. Michael Ware.  Dr. Ware served as the sole practitioner of the practice for the past 35 years.  Dr. Laroux purchased the business with support and financing from Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB), Belknap County Economic Development Council (BelkapEDC) and Dr. Ware, and has been operating the veterinary hospital since September. Local photographer Jon Secord has committed to contribute 25% of his photography sales between the period of November 15 and December 15 to Genesis Behavioral Health (Genesis). MVSB has agreed to match his donation up to $5,000 to help support the efforts of Genesis Behavioral Health in the Lakes Region. Wolfeboro Carwash and Executive Detail, located within Clarke Plaza in Wolfeboro, recently purchased and installed new carwash equipment with financing from MVSB.  The business added a new Ryko SoftGloss Maxx friction/touch carwash and upgraded their existing touchless carwash system to a two-step presoak for enhanced cleaning.  Along with these equipment upgrades, they have also realigned their carwash menu to offer more value to their customers. We are pleased to announce the October Book of the Month selections from our ten participating local libraries. The Book of the Month program was developed to encourage folks of all ages to pursue the joy of reading and benefit from the variety of learning and creative opportunities available from all types of books. Participating libraries receive an annual $500 donation to purchase books each month to be displayed at the library as the MVSB Books of the Month. MVSB recently purchased $5,000 in tax credits through the Community Development Investment Program (CDIP) in support of the WOW Trail in Laconia. We are excited to launch a three-month arts-themed Facebook contest, during which community members will have the opportunity to vote for a local school district to win a $3000 arts grant and enter to win one of five $250 Ticketmaster™ gift card for themselves.
