The security of your debit card purchases online is very important to you and to us. After September 26th, if you make a “high risk” purchase that’s out of the ordinary for you at a 3D Secure online merchant, a pop-up will appear asking you to provide your debit card expiration date, billing address zip code and the last 4 digits of your tax ID number. This added verification step helps prevent fraudulent purchases if your debit card information has been compromised as a result of a data breach or identity theft scheme. Between 4pm and 8pm on Saturday, September 24, we will be performing scheduled system maintenance. During this timeframe convenience banking services will be available; however, updates to balances and account history may be delayed. Users will be unable to make account transfers, loan payments, view images, or place stop payments via online, mobile or telephone banking while maintenance is being performed.  We expect all systems will be back to normal by 8pm on Saturday. We have received several reports of local residents who are receiving fraudulent text messages from telephone numbers beginning with 844. The fraudulent message appears to be a “DebitCard Alert” and asks that the recipient call the 844 telephone number the text message came from.  Individuals that do so are then asked to provide sensitive personal and financial information. Meredith Village Savings Bank does employ a fraud monitoring system that alerts customers by text message when an unusual debit card transaction is detected.
