Local nonprofits who wish to apply for the MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) Fund grants can do so prior to October 15th. Established in 1997, under the leadership of John Starrett, then-President and CEO of the Bank, the MVSB Fund at New Hampshire Charitable Foundation makes grant-based contributions to nonprofit organizations that enrich and improve the quality of life for residents living in the Bank’s service areas. MVSB Supports NH Now Photography Book and Exhibitions of Life in the Granite State
We are proud to sponsor New Hampshire Now, a collaborative effort between New Hampshire Historical Society and New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists portraying current life in New Hampshire through photography. The curated collection will be presented in a limited-edition book, available for purchase beginning Oct. 1, as well as in a series of simultaneous exhibits at locations across the state starting the same date. Gale School in Belmont to Become Childcare and Community Program Center
We are proud to support Lakes Region Community Developers (LRCD) with the purchase of $10,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA). The funds will be put towards the Gale School Redevelopment Project at 60 Concord Street in Belmont Village. The Gale School was built in 1894, and was used by the Belmont School District until the mid-1980s when it was vacated. Since then, the empty building has stood vacant and fallen into disrepair. MVSB Supports Monarch School of New England’s Horticultural Therapy and Gardening Program
We are proud to support Monarch School of New England (MSNE) in Rochester with a $5,000 donation to the school’s Horticultural Therapy and Gardening Program. The donation will be used to provide plants, seeds, compost bins, tools, and other supplies for the gardens. In their nurturing environment, MSNE uses expertise in creative and occupational therapies, including work, art and activity-based learning to educate children with varying levels of intellectual, physical, medical and behavioral disabilities. The Community School Summer Camp Receives Support from MVSB
We are proud to support the Community School in Tamworth with a donation of $5,000 to be used for their 2021 summer camp program. The program, which also receives grant money from the Tamworth Foundation, is free to Tamworth residents. Children from surroundings towns, including Albany, Madison, Moultonborough, Ossipee and Sandwich can also enroll at a cost. MVSB’s donation will help offset that cost for local campers. The Community School’s summer day camp offers five sessions between the months of July and August for campers ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade.
