MVSB has purchased $5,000 in tax credits through the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) in support of the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire (BHTNH). These funds will support the organization’s goal to raise awareness of NH’s Black history in order to build a more inclusive community. MVSB Donates $5000 to the Save Our Gale School Volunteer Preservation Group
MVSB has donated $5000 to Save Our Gale School (SOGS), a local volunteer preservation group dedicated to saving the historic Gale School, currently located behind Belmont Middle School. SOGS has already raised more than $330,000 in grants and donations to preserve the Victorian-style building, which was built in 1894. The Gale School, which has stood empty since 1997, was named one of 2017’s “Seven to Save” by the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, is also listed on the NH Register of Historical Places and was a school of various kinds for almost a century until 1984.
