The 2011 WLNH Children’s Auction, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6 through Saturday, Dec. 10, needs more than 2,000 items this year to meet its fundraising goal. As a long-time supporter of the Children’s Auction, we are collecting donated auction items at several MVSB branches. If you have items you would like to donate to the Children’s Auction, please bring them to selected MVSB locations during business hours prior to December 9. MVSB and Affordable Housing Education and Development (AHEAD) are teaming up to present a workshop for people considering purchasing their first home and for anyone interested in learning about the home buying process. The workshop is a practical guide to buying a home. Issues covered include budgeting and financial management, credit and credit reports, shopping for a home, getting a mortgage, home inspections, special financing programs and more.
