MVSB was ranked first in mortgage lending for Belknap County in May 2020, according to the NH Registry Review. In addition, Eric Petell, who joined the MVSB mortgage lending team in November of 2019, was recognized as number one in the individual category. Individual mortgage lending is measured by volume of loans, while rankings by institution include purchase and refinance mortgages for all residential properties for the month of May. Local community members are reporting an increase in receiving fraudulent phone calls. Criminals disguise themselves by faking another phone number or identity and solicit sensitive information from the person who answers the phone. Common faked identities include the IRS, the Social Security Administration and other businesses and government organizations. It is illegal to use spoofed, or faked, caller ID information when the intent is to defraud, harm or scam someone.
