The Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund at New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded $120,000 to 35 non-profit organizations. These include $99,000 awarded to 21 local agencies, and $21,000 donated to 14 area food pantries. Sister companies, Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB), Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack) and MillRiver Wealth Management (MillRiver) have joined together to support the NH Jump$tart Coalition. As gold level sponsors, each company contributed $3,000 to NH Jump$tart, which aims to improve the financial literacy of pre-kindergarten through college-age youth by providing advocacy, research, activities, standards and educational resources. Belmont Middle School has opened a new Makerspace designed for students, teachers and mentors to meet, create, invent and learn. This was made possible by the $6,000 grant the school received from the Meredith Village Savings Bank fund in 2017. The Makerspace offers 3D printers, a 3D scanner, software programs, electronic kits, craft materials and sewing machines that help students keep pace with the growing need for technical knowledge. More than 2,000 mittens, gloves, hats and scarves were collected and distributed to local schools and non-profits. On Wednesday, December 13th, we will be closing our offices and drive-ups early for an employee event. The hours for the Melvin Village office will not change.
